      Merseyside Police

We believe that the police on Merseyside do have a very difficult job to fulfil. We also believe that constant public reports, stating that they act in a cavalier manner towards certain crimes, does not enhance their image.   It would be nice if we could approach the local police with the trust that we once had in them 20 - 30 years ago.   The police departments of old would not have tolerated the crimes being committed by todays criminals.   We hasten to add that the police of old were aided and backed up by a very strict justice system.  

 

Todays justice system accepts that burglary is not that serious a crime and accordingly this belief has effectively tied the hands of the police.
We wonder what the Law Lords would think and do, if they ever had their homes broken into and burgled .  

The tears would flow then.
